Lasya Nanditha, Secunderabad Cantonment administrator as well as a Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLA tragically died in a road crash in Sangareddy district’s Aminpur Mandal in Telangana in the early morning on Friday around 5:30 AM.
The 37-year-old, Nanditha died at the scene ahead of being taken to a hospital. From the graphics from the scene of the accident, it could be seen that she sustained serious head trauma. On the other hand, her driver although severely injured as well is currently receiving medical treatment. They were in an SUV – Maruti XL6 when the car got out of control and hit the divider, Nanditha and her driver both sustained severe injuries.
After the accident, the Police gave their statement that Lasya Nanditha was travelling back from Basara to Gatchibowli. The police suspected that the driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel which was confirmed to be true by a statement taken from the driver himself. The front part of the car received some serious damage. They also stated that she had been taken to a private hospital but was announced dead before arrival.
The officers on the scene also stated that although she had her seatbelt on, the crash was so catastrophic that “she sustained severe head injuries and succumbed.”
Born in Hyderabad in the year 1986, Lasya’s arrival in the game of politics was almost 10 years ago. Prior to being selected in the Telangana Assembly election in 2023 as an MLA from Secunderabad Cantonment, Nanditha spent her time working in a corporation in Kavadiguda. Her father, G. Sayanna was a politician as well and held the constituency seat which was occupied by Nanditha after he died in early 2023.
According to reports, Nanditha had a narrow escape from an accident 10 days before on the 23rd of February on the state highway in the suburbs of Nalgonda while travelling back to Hyderabad post a party meeting.
KT Rama, a BRS leader also expressed his shock and condolences while replying to a previous tweet of Lasya herself a week ago where she posted a series of photos with KT Rama from their meeting, he wrote on X, “This was a week ago. Just now heard the absolutely tragic & shocking news that Lasya is no more!! Woke up to the devastating loss of the young legislator who was a very good leader in the making.” He also expressed heartfelt prayers for strength to her family and friends in times like these. Lasya has been granted a state funeral along with police honours by the Telangana Government.
