Pune: 38-year-old Renuka killed his husband by thrashing his nose because he failed to take her to Dubai for her birthday celebration.
The victim allegedly named, Nikhil Khanna, 36-year-old man died on Friday night at the couple’s apartment, located in a posh residential society in Pune Wanavdi Area.
Nikhil Khanna was businessman in the construction industry and had a love marriage of 6 years with Renuka.
“The couple had a heated argument where Khanna refused his wife to take her to Dubai to celebrate her birthday”, said Senior police officer at Wanavdi Police Station. Further adding that he also did not please her with Lavish gifts on birthdays and anniversaries.
“She was also upset with Nikhil for not giving a favorable response when asked to go to Delhi for celebrating birthdays of some relative”, said The Police officer at Wanavdi Police Station.
During their quarrel, Renuka delivered a forceful punch on Nikhil’s face, resulting in broken nose and several damaged teeth. The impact of the blow was so severe that Nikhil lost his consciousness due to heavy bleeding.
The neighbors of the victim informed the police of the incident, and they reached the spot immediately. They took the victim to Sasson General Hospital where he was declared dead.
The Wanavdi Police have taken Renuka under custody for further investigation and filed a case against her under IPC section 320. They are also investigating whether the woman killed her husband using only her fist or some other object. Cops also said that the exact cause of death will be known after the autopsy.
