On Friday pm Narendra Modi announces price-cut of Rs 100 in domestic LPG cylinder, branded as gift for women on the occasion on International Women’s day.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi announces the decision on his social media post on platform X , saying that this move will ease the financial burden of millions of households across the country especially women’s highlighting the “ Nari Shakti” .
He also shows his concern regarding the well-being of families and ensure a healthier environment and empowering women’s to ensuring ease life for them . prime minister wrote on his social media .
“today on International Women’s Day our our government has decided to reduce LPG cylinder prices by Rs 100. this will significantly ease the financial burden on millions of households across the country, especially benefiting our Nari Sakti’’. Prime minister twitted on x .
On another post on X, PM Modi greeted people on International Women’s Day .
Furthermore, he added “we salute the strength, courage and resilience of our Nari Sakti and laud their accomplishments across various fields. Our government is committed to empowering women’s through various initiatives in field of education, entrepreneurship , agriculture, technology and more,” he said
The government in October last year hiked the subsidy from Rs 200 per 14.2 kg to Rs 300 per bottle . the Rs 300 per cylinder subsidy was for the current fiscal, which ended on march 31.
A 14.2 kg cooking gas cylinder costs around Rs 900 in Delhi . meanwhile, the government on Thursday announced the extension of Rs 300 per LPG cylinder subsidy to poor women under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwal Yojana ( PMUJ) by one more year till the end of 2024-25.
The LPG subsidy will be provided up to 12 refills per year. For FY25, total expenditure under the scheme is estimated at Rs 12,000 crore, the subsidy will be directly credited to the bank accounts of beneficiaries.
