Dr. Pranjal Modi , convenor of the state organ tissue transplantation organisation, said that the transplantation took place on Thursday without any complications so far. ” Success and failure of the transplantation procedure would be known after a few days, for now I can say with confidence that the infant added a new chapter in the history of Gujarat’s organs donation initiative where we transplanted kidney from the youngest donor of the India , this result will be followed by experts across the country ” said Dr. Pranjal Modi.
Explaining the process how the apparently “mismatched” kidney would get adopted in the host’s body . Dr. Modi said that the kidney of the infant will grow into full capacity , as per function it will take time to adapt to the donor body but it will soon get adapted to the host body and will function as their own organs. By this donation the teens will not have to undergo regular dialysis and will have no chances of life-threatening kidney failures.
SOTTO on Thursday shared that the liver of the infant was transplanted in a 10 months old baby at the Institute of Liver and Biliary Science (ILBS) in New Delhi. “The transplantation was successful now the baby will be under close observation to monitor the receptibility of a the transplanted organ ” said Dr. Modi.
The organ donation was a joint method of counsellors in Surat.
