On February 29, something troubling happened during the 12th-grade board exams in Agra, Uttar Pradesh – the Maths and Biology papers were leaked. Just one hour after the exam began, pictures of the papers started popping up on social media, creating quite a stir. This wasn’t an isolated incident; for the past 15 days, there had been protests across various places in Uttar Pradesh, with people expressing their concerns about paper leaks.
Despite ongoing demonstrations, the situation didn’t improve, and the problem escalated when news of yet another paper leak went viral on social media. This time, it involved not just one, but two papers from the UP Board 12th class, and the method was the same as before – the leak occurred on WhatsApp, precisely an hour after the exam commenced.
When the leaked papers surfaced on social media, the authorities didn’t waste any time. They immediately sprang into action, demanding recordings from all the exam centers to investigate the matter. The latest case of paper leak unfolded in Agra, where both Maths and Biology papers papers were compromised on February 29.
Upon investigation by the Education Department officials, it was discovered that the leak originated from Atar Singh Inter College in Rojauli. The college’s computer operator, Vinay Choudhary, was identified as the person who made the leak viral by sharing it on a WhatsApp group. According to reports, Vinay Chahar’s name was linked to the mobile from which the photos of the paper were taken. It appears that these images were intended for another group, but accidentally ended up in the principal’s group. There are suspicions that this leak might be connected to an education mafia, which could be getting the papers written outside and receiving copies through such channels.
In response to the recurring issue of paper leaks, the government has spoken about adopting stricter measures during board exams, including enhanced monitoring through CCTV. Mukesh Aggarwal, an examination supervisor, mentioned that photos of some papers have indeed gone viral on social media, and the matter is under investigation. The UP Board will be informed about these developments. Although the leaked paper has been reportedly seen at multiple centers, it hasn’t been officially found in this particular series.
The ongoing investigation aims to uncover the extent of the leak and identify those responsible. The incident has raised concerns about the integrity of the examination system and prompted discussions about the need for robust measures to prevent such leaks in the future. The government and education authorities are now under pressure to address these issues promptly and ensure the fair conduct of exams, preserving the trust of students and the public in the education system.
