On late Saturday night, Tajganj police received a call from a homestay in Basai, Tajganj area reporting a rape and assault case. Following the call they rushed to the homestay and started investigating on the matter.
Agra Sadar Assistant commissioner Archana Singh told ANI “ On Saturday night we got a call informing that a woman has been been raped and assaulted in a homestay accommodation; allegedly named Rich homestay.” Further adding that legal action is being persuaded in the matter and the victim will get a medical evaluation.
The victim is around 25 years of age and is an employee in the same homestay.
According the police official a video was also made by the accused of assaulting the victim. The disturbing video is being widely shared on the internet.
PTI was informed by the Basai police post in-charge Mohit Sharma that “She narrated the whole incident to us about being raped and said she was beaten by the accused. They had also broken a glass bottle on her head and was also forced to drink alcohol.”
Sharma said that “ She also informed that the accused had made an objectionable video of her in the past based on which they were blackmailing her, ”.
“On the basis of the complaint, the accused; including five men and a woman have been arrested and a case have been registered under the section of rape and other relevant sections of IPC”.
