The West Bengal Police has filed an FIR against National investigation agency(ANI) for molestation and house trespassing after a probe agency’s raid in Medinipur district linked to the 2022 bomb blast case.
The incident took place day after the NIA team launched an investigation in Medinipur district. According to probe agency the team was attacked by unruly mob during raid. After which, it take a political spark between the TMC’s ruling party and opposition party BJP. Bhartiya Janta Party alleged the attack was made by the behest of Mamata Banerjee.
The case has been lodged against the NIA by the west Bengal police on Sunday, on the basis of complaint filed by women. She alleged that she and her husband was assaulted by officials during a raid in there house and her modesty outraged.
The incident took place when attempt was made by NIA team to arrest TMC’s Manobrata Jana and Bailicharan Maity in connection with the 2022 Bhupatinagar bomb blast in which three people were killed.
Manobrata Jana’s wife Moni Jana lodged a complain in the Bhupatinagar police station against NIA for there forcibly entering in there residence in the pretext of conducting investigation and vandalized her residence during a raid, PTI told on Sunday.
The FIR has been registered against NIA team under IPC section 354 (for assaulting women) and multiple section of Indian panel code, including 325,34,354(b),425,448 and 509.
The complain has been lodged by the NIA team against alleged mob with the Bhupatinagar police station. the police are yet to arrest anyone involve in attack, the matter is still under way for investigation. Said the police.
