According to the BJP leaders, on the day before Women’s Day, India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to conduct a rally located in West Bengal’s North 24 District, around the Sandeshkhali area. The report gets its final confirmation when Bengal’s BJP President Sukanta Majumdar states the Prime Minister is likely to visit Barasat to address a women’s rally on March 7.
Sukanta Majumdar was hospitalised due to a conflict between police and other BJP leaders when the police stopped to enter the Sandeshkhali area. A large number of women accused TMC leader Shajahan Sheikh and his supporters of sexually assaulting them. When BJP president Sukanta Majumdar, party leaders, and the central fact-finding team went to the spot, the state police stopped them from visiting the area.
Sheikh has been arrested recently and was missing since January 5th when the ED officer went to his place for a raid for the connection in the ration scam. His two supporters, who were accused of gang rape and murder, were being arrested. Hours after Shajahan’s arrest, TMC suspended him for 6 years.
