Manipur Police Superintendent was kidnapped by 200 gunmen

The Manipur Police stated that Imphal East additional superintendent of police Amit Singh was kidnapped by cadres of the Arambai Tenggol but later rescued.

On Tuesday, superintendent of police Amit Singh was a hostage under the Arambai Tenggol. The police said it is a Meitei organisation from Imphal East district. The Manipur police also added that East Additional Superintendent of Police Amit Singh was later rescued safely with the cop’s active move and admitted to a hospital in stable condition. On Tuesday evening, the cadres of the Arambai Tenggol went to the spot and destroyed the local houses and four vehicles.

The Manipur police posted the incident briefly on their official social media account on X 

The police officer’s father, M. Kulla, further stated that they tried to speak with the gunmen, but they started firing all over the house, and they locked themselves. According to the report, he called his son, and he was abducted by 200 gunmen when he rushed to his house. But according to the police report, they rescued officer Amit Singh within an hour.

The situation got devastated after the rescue operation, so the government had to take help from the Army. Under the Army’s command operation, the Assam Rifles and a paramilitary force function.
