PM Narendra Modi today in Bengal amidst Sandeshkhali row and to reveal India’s 1st underwater metro in Howrah
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will again visit Bengal to inaugurate the project of India’s 1st under-water metro in Howrah. He will unveil the project of the Howrah to Maidan-Esplanade metro section of the east-west corridor of Kolkata metro, which is going to be India’s first underwater metro service. He will inaugurate the project worth Rs 15,400 crore for state capital, Kolkata development. The underwater metro opening event took place in Howrah at 10:30 a.m., where Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw was also present.
Modi would visit Barasat, near Sandeshkhali, where the local people endured a bunch of violence, like land grabbing and being sexually assaulted by TMC leader Shajahan Sheikh and his supporters. He reached Barasat around 11.30 a.m. to condemn TMC for creating such a situation in Bengal.
PM Narendra Modi will also conduct a few more metro projects via video conference call in other parts of the country. To make travel more comfortable and fast, PM Modi inaugurated the project of the Howrah under-water metro. The metro routes will be Howrah to Maidan-Esplanade Metro Section, Kavi Subhash to Hemanta Mukhopadhyay Metro Section, and Taratala to Majerhat Metro Section.
During the Kolkata event, PM Modi will also conduct the Pune metro project.
The extended route will be from Pune Metro to Ruby Hall Clinic to Ramwadi stretch; Kochi Metro Rail Phase 1 Extension project from SN Junction Metro station to Tripunithura Metro station; and Agra Metro’s stretch from Taj East Gate to Mankameshwar, Duhai-Modinagar section of Delhi to Meerut RRTS Corridor.
