West Bengal: On the fourth day of the brutal murder of 8-year-old Shnehangshu Sharma at Konnagor, Hoogly police arrested two, one of them is the dead boy’s mother. Two women Shanta Sharma (the boy’s mother) and Iffat Praveen later arrested from Watgunge, Kolkata confessed that they were in a romantic relationship.
From the crime spots several items were collected that are assumed to be used for killing the kid, it includes a knife, a showpiece, and an iron rod. The couple killed the child brutally after he witnessed “a sexually intimate moment between his mother and her lover” the cops say. This horrific murder incident in Konnagor’s Adashnagar shook the hearts of many.
The pupil was repeatedly stabbed by a vegetable knife, and his head was struck with a stone idol and smashed repetitively by an iron rod. The investigation was carried out by the Chandannagar commissioner, aided by forensic experts and analysis of CCTV footage provided by former Kanaipur panchayat Pradhan Achhelal Yadav, who has goodwill with Sharma.
After analysing the CCTV footages cops called Shnehangshu Sharma’s father Pankaj Sharma and mother Shanta for interrogation. Shanta cracked sustaining questions and revealed that she and Iffat were in an ” emotional and sexual” relationship on Friday.
“We have arrested two persons involved in the murder of Shnehangshu Sharma, one of them are boy’s mother and the other is from Watgunge, Kolkata ” said Arnab Biswas ( Serampore deputy commissioner).
Further investigation revealed that Shanta and Iffat had known each other before the marriage of Shanta. Cops said it was Iffat who hurled and stuck the idol on the boy’s head.
Based on multiple pieces of evidence we decided against arresting these two women says the Cops. Shanta was arrested from home and Iffat was handcuffed from her place in Watgunge. ” their presence at the place of occurrence of the murder was imputably established ” said Biswas.
