A Sarsuna resident in class XI said that her friend and brother, both 28 years old, had sexually assaulted her twice. According to investigators, the acquaintance was also a minor. The third offender, Jeet Kundu (19) from Jadav Ghosh Road, filmed the second attack, according to the survivor, who was threatened to be silent by the footage after she finished testifying before a magistrate.
After a 72-hour investigation, the brother and Kundu were taken into custody, and a POCSO case was opened in response to the little girl’s complaint. According to a Lalbazar officer, the arrested were presented in court and taken into police custody. The juvenile defendant has also been detained and will appear before a juvenile justice board.
The girl lived with her brother following the death of their parents, and their maternal uncle paid them daily visits.
According to the police, a source told them about the brother’s assault on her. “On February 3, the child was sexually abused by her brother for the first time. She then ran away from home and moved in with a friend, where she was attacked again a few days later. After being traumatised, the girl remained silent for a few days until confiding in her class teacher, who subsequently approached the police with assistance from an NGO, according to a senior police officer.
We scheduled her for counselling in addition to sending her to court to record her statement. She stated in front of the magistrate that Kundu had recorded her companion, a child, assaulting her as well. The brother was taken into custody by Sarsuna police station officers on Monday and Tuesday.
Along with Kundu’s arrest, the young friend was also taken into custody. “We sought their police custody after the arrested were produced in court. Another officer stated, “We took the survivor’s clothing as forensic evidence.
The girl had said that her brother had been abusing her sexually. She further claimed that in another incident, a buddy had sexually abused her while another friend had videotaped the action.
“Everyone who had direct involvement in the matter has been apprehended,” stated DC (Behala) Saumya Roy. The survivor’s friends and family are being contacted by the police following the filing of a formal complaint under sections 6, 10, and 12 of the POCSO Act.
