According to the investigation, following the request by the United States Banmeet Singh, a 40-year-old man who was a resident of Uttrakhand’s Haldwani was arrested in London in April 2019. Then he was extradited to the US in March 2023.
In January, Singh proved guilty of being involved in a conspiracy to distribute drugs and a conspiracy to commit money laundering. At the same time, acting Assistant Attorney General Nicole M. According to an investigation, it was revealed that he used to be connected with dark web marketplaces, such as Silk Road, Alpha Bay, Hansa, and others, to sell controlled substances, including fentanyl, LSD, ecstasy, Xanax, ketamine, and tramadol. He was paid for cryptocurrency by his customers, and Singh will personally ship the drugs. He used to also arrange the shipment of the drugs from Europe to the US via mail or other shipping services.
