On Saturday, a shocking incident came forth from Bengaluru where a woman from Kolkata aged 42 was murdered by her lover, a Bengaluru cab driver following her rejection of marrying the man. The woman, Farida Khatun worked at a spa was stabbed to death by her boyfriend, Girish a.k.a. Rehan aged 35 who worked as a cab driver from the area of Jayanagar.
On Saturday, when Girish proposed to Farida but she rejected his proposal citing different priorities in their life, Girish repeatedly stabbed her, as per police investigation.
A police official stated, “Farida and Girish met in 2022 when Girish had gone to a spa where she worked. Their friendship bloomed and turned into love. Farida and her husband had separated and she was taking care of her two children alone. Also, Farida’s husband died recently.”
Last month, Farida visited West Bengal and came back on the 26th of March with both her daughters prior to Girish’s birthday on the 29th of March. Her reason for returning was discovered to be finding a suitable college for her daughter other than celebrating Girish’s birthday.
Farida and her daughters rented a room in a hotel and on Saturday, Girish took them to shop and have lunch with him. Following this in the evening, Girish dropped both of Farida’s daughters at the room. While Girish and Farida were in Shalini Grounds, he proposed to Farida but she rejected his proposal and in anger, Girish repeatedly stabbed Farida after which he surrendered to the Jayanagar police.
As per police investigation, in 2011 Girish accepted Islam however he had difficulties in finding a suitable match for his sister. He later changed back to Hinduism although he still followed Islam, stated a police officer.
