23-year old Alice Wood was convicted of Murder for fatally striking her fiance, 24-year old Ryan Watson and dragging him 500 Feet away. Witnesses claim the incident to be a ‘Game Of Chicken’. The couple had an argument at a Charity Party they were present at on May 6th, 2022 according to the Cheshire Police. They allegedly argued over Watson flirting with another girl at the party.
According to reports released by BBC, Alice Wood denied the accusations and has claimed her fiance’s death to be a “tragic accident”. The couple drove back home in Watson’s Car around 11:00pm. On reaching they exited the car and got into a heated argument. The surveillance footage shows the accused getting in her car, a Ford Fiesta and driving at her fiance until he was caught under the hood of the car.
Witnesses claim to have heard “shouting, doors slamming, and a car engine revving”. After striking her fiance multiple times, she asked a resident to contact the ambulance as she ran over her boyfriend. Alice Wood was drunk thus failed a breathalyser test and was immediately arrested. Allegedly, she made a statement to the Police saying “It’s fine, I deserve it“. Ryan Watson was declared dead at the scene by the paramedics.
Alice Wood is due for sentence on January 29th, 2024. In a spite of anger and overwhelmed emotions, Alice took her fiance’s life. Ryan will not be able to live his life and achieve his goals. His Parents will always feel a hollow space and pain of losing their son. No matter what Wood says, the Police and the Hon’ble Court know the truth. What she did was no accident, she intended to harm him and inflict pain to vent out her feelings and satisfy her anger.
