Drinking water every day keeps you healthy, boosts your immunity, and makes you hydrated. Human beings need a minimum of 12 glasses of water daily for their body. Drinking water has a huge positive impact on your body, skin, and mind. However, a recent study is showing concerns over drinking water from packaged bottles. Researchers from Columbia and Rutgers University have found that an average amount of 240,000 detachable plastic fragments were in one liter of packaged water. A recent study also showed the content of nanoplastic in breast milk. Increased consumption and dependency on plastic objects are harmful to the whole planet and it is threatening human life in all possible ways.
The International Bottled Water Association has responded to the news by saying that these reports are just to scare the consumers and there is no scientific consensus. The IBWA also noted that the organization had “very limited notice and time to review this new study closely and so cannot provide a detailed response at this time. However, regarding the questions about how these nanoplastics are affecting the human body, the scientists said that it is under study and as of now there is no proper explanation for its effects on the human body. The thing scientists are aware of is that these nanoplastics are getting into the tissues and studies are going on of how these are affecting the cells. We can wait for the new updates from the team in the coming months.
