UP STF arrested the main culprit behind the question paper leak case in UP Constable Recruitment Exam. Police have identified the accused as Rajeev Nayan Mishra, and he was arrested by Noida police.
Earlier, the Uttar Pradesh government had cancelled the UP Police Constable Recruitment Examination 2023 because of a question paper leak case. The Uttar Pradesh Police’s Special Task Force (STF) has arrested the main culprit behind the paper leaks case. The accused was identified as Rajeev Nayan Mishra, who was arrested by the Noida STF. He was involved in previous similar cases. More than 48 lakh aspirants had appeared for the UP Police Recruitment Exam of this year, which also included almost 16 lakh female candidates. The exam was conducted on February 17 and 18. The exam took place at 2,385 centres in four shifts across all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh. The UP government aims to fill 60,244 positions in the state police force through the recruitment drive.
On February 18th, for allegedly plotting to adopt unfair means in the police constable recruitment exam, the UP police earlier arrested as many as 244 people from across the state. After that, in March, UP Police’s Special Task Force arrested seven more people from Meerut and Delhi for their direct involvement in the police recruitment exam paper leak case. According to an official report, the accused were members of a gang involved in the question paper leak case. Deepak, Bittu, Praveen, Rohit, Naveen, and Sahil are all residents of Meerut and got arrested at a house in Kanker Kheda Police Station. One more accused, named Pramod Pathak, a resident of Gautam Buddha Nagar, was also arrested.
The Yogi Adityanath-led government also gave instructions to conduct a re-examination within six months while announcing the exam cancellation. CM Adityanath stated in a post on his official social media account X that there can be no compromise with the sanctity of examinations. Those who play with the hard work of the youth will not be spared under any circumstances. The strictest action is certain to be taken against such unruly elements.
