Unexpected Bonds: A Tale of Tea and Love
One day in the heart of the busy city where tea drinkers meet on a daily basis, a fortuitous incident occurred and a narrative just like a nicely made cup of tea emerged. On my ardent pursuit as a tea lover, I was caught up in a fascinating story of love, bonding, and excitement “The Story of Love Over Tea”
On an unexpected day, while enjoying tea at the tea shop, I encountered an elderly man whose age was above 75.
Despite this, he, too, is a tea lover. I approached him and took a seat opposite. I simply asked, ‘Hello Grandpa, do you enjoy tea?”
He responded with a smile, “Yeah”. I felt very happy and started chatting with him. Finally, as we were leaving the tea shop, the girl hurriedly entered.
He approached us and took the grandpa’s hand. I was surprised, “Who is she, and why she is holding the grandpa’s hand?” The grandpa gazed at me, and I simply asked, “Who are you?”
She answered angrily, “He is my grandfather.”
I was surprised and replied, “I’m sorry. I wasn’t aware.”
She said, “Grandpa, what you are doing with this guy? Come on, let’s go home.”
I responded with a serious expression, “We were discussing important matters.”
She said sternly, “Grandpa, I said come with me. let’s go home.”
The way she behaved towards her grandpa made me wonder. I held his hand and said, “No he won’t come. We are planning to go somewhere else.”
The grandpa gazed at me and smiled. The girl was surprised and sat in a chair, ordering three cups of tea.
She said, “Okay Grandpa. I understand. But before leaving, please listen to me. Please, Grandpa.”
The Grandpa sat on the chair, holding my hand. I was surprised why the Grandpa remained silent. The server brought the tea, we savored it.
The Grandpa responded, “Parvathi, now you can leave from here.”
Parvathi surprised, said, “Grandpa, please listen to me. I will fulfill your wish, but before that, you need to promise me.”
Grandpa surprised, answered, “Okay I promise you, but you also need to listen to my words.”
Parvathi said, “Okay Grandpa, I will listen and respect your words. The condition is, that you are not supposed to eat any sweets, and by the end of this day, we need to reach our home.”
Grandpa said, “Okay. I agree with you. By the way, he will also come with us.”
Parvathi angry, “Grandpa, we don’t even who he is. How can we allow him to come with us?”. Grandpa said, “He is my friend. is it okay now?”
Parvathi replied, “Do whatever you want. I’ll be waiting outside. Come fast.”
Parvathi left from there. I was surprised and asked, “Grandpa, what’s going on? why is she so angry? Why do I need to come with you.”
Grandpa answered with a smile, “Dear son, I know who you are. You are an honest person filled with kindness. She’s not angry, she was just confused. So, I decided to take her to my village. Initially, she rejected the idea, but eventually, she agreed. Anyway, I’d like you to join us. You’ll enjoy being with us. By the way, your grandfather is my friend.”
The Grandpa left from there and I joined them. At last, we headed towards the village.
The grandfather took us to his home. The Grandpa said, “Parvathi, I’m feeling so hungry.”
Parvathi said, “Wait for a few minutes, Grandpa.”
She went into the kitchen and started preparing the food. I also entered the kitchen and offered, “Can I help you.”
Parvathi responded, “No.”
But I didn’t heed her words and started helping her. Eventually, the food was prepared. We sat together and enjoyed it. As we were leaving, the house, the village girls entered and covered Parvathi’s eyes, surprising her by wishing, “Happy Birthday Paru.”
I was surprised and the grandpa felt happy.
Her friends adorned her like a Mysore Palace Princess and celebrated her birthday by cutting a cake. She was surprised. After taking blessings from her Grandpa, her friends gave her a gift. They enjoyed it for some time. As they were leaving the home, she approached Grandpa and said, “Thank you, Grandpa. I didn’t expect this from you. This was a memorable gift for me.”
Grandpa said, “You have another gift, try to guess it.”
Parvathi was shocked, “Another gift? I don’t think I can guess what it might be.”
Grandpa was smiling, looking in my direction. I wasn’t sure why he was gazing at me. In the end, he came over to me, took my hand, and brought me closer to Parvathi.
However, the climax awaited. What surprised us all was that the grandpa winked before announcing an engagement between Parvathi and I. The amazement swept the air only for the parents to enter in for our shocked
I was taken aback and stepped back. She, equally surprised, also took a step back. I wasn’t aware of what was happening. Suddenly, my parents entered and surprised me by asking, “Are you happy?”
I was confused and asked them, “What’s going on?”. They responded, “She is your better half; this is your grandpa’s wish. He planned to surprise you. Finally, he did it.” This made me accept the reality. Meanwhile, Parvathi’s parents entered, surprising her as well. She, too, accepted the reality. It was an unexpected birthday gift for her and me. Finally, my grandpa arrived and made a surprise visit. In their presence, we both got engaged.
This is how I met my life partner. She’s genuinely kindhearted and respects the words of others. After a few days, we got married. She took time to feel comfortable speaking with me. But eventually, after a month, she said, “I like you.” This surprised me more than any achievement. Since then, we’ve been leading a happy life. Finally, now we’re both enjoying a cup of tea.
At last, at the end of it all, I got involved with my stranger-turned-friend, who now lives as my wife in life. In conclusion, the tea, love, and adventures came to an end with a cup of tea enjoyed alongside families.
It was a strange trip caused by tea, and it turned out that such mixture defined our once upon a time. And therefore, we relish the pages of life, one cup of tea at a time.
