The second season of the highly anticipated Women’s Premier League 2024 is here so don’t forget to clear your schedules as it is all set to kick off on this Friday at the Mangalam Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. While the tournament will go on till 17th March, the opening ceremony is supplied to be a star-studded episode.
And the WPL already had a blockbuster beginning with the BCCI (Board of control for cricket in India) declaring that the all time, Bollywood legend Shahrukh Khan will be there too. SRK, who is fondly called as King Khan, is not a new name in the cricketing world. The superstar is long associated with cricket as the owner of the two time IPL (Indian Premier league) champions, KKR (Kolkata Knight Riders) franchise.
This has created a lot of excitement and hype among fans, who are eagerly anticipating his electrifying and dynamic performance at the event. “Get ready folks. In the 1st season, the opening ceremony had featured some of the biggest stars and this season is no different as the big names are set to take part in the event.
Kartik Aaryan was announced first to be the part of the ceremony. Other B-Town celebs like Shahid Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Tiger Shroff and Siddharth Malhotra will be there too, as WPL celebrates ‘Cricket ka Queendom!’

The opening ceremony of WPL will start at 6:30 PM IST on Friday (February 23) and will take place at M chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru.
When and where to watch?
Although the ceremony will be held in Bengaluru, viewers can also watch its live streaming on the Jio Cinema app and the website, followed by a live telecast on the Sports18 network.
The first match of the WPL will take place between, Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians. Both the sides will look to start the tournament with a win as they look to get their hands on the prestigious title.
