In a significant move, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated 15 airport projects, including the much-awaited Terminal 1 at New Delhi’s airport, through a virtual ceremony held in Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh, on March 10. The new passenger terminals span across various cities, namely Delhi, Lucknow, Pune, Kolhapur, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Aligarh, Azamgarh, Chitrakoot, Moradabad, Shravasti, and Adampur.
During the inauguration, PM Modi expressed his appreciation for the warmth and affection displayed by the people of Azamgarh, stating, “The people from across the country can see the love and affection of Azamgarh. They can see your enthusiasm… This love is wonderful.”PM Modi further addressed the skepticism that sometimes arises when multiple projects are unveiled simultaneously.
“Recently, I’ve been starting many important projects all at once from one location. When folks hear about lots of new airports, railway stations, IIMs, and AIIMS hospitals, they might be surprised. Some may think it’s just because elections are coming up. But it’s not about that old way of thinking.”
