On Thursday, Mamata Banarjee stated that she condemns and seeks strict action on the remarks to Prophet Muhammad
Mentioning the word “hate speech,” Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banarjee condemned the comments on Prophet Muhammad by the BJP leader and wants strict action against them. She also added that these remarks mean the spread of violence and dividing the seculars of the country.
It all started with the controversial remarks of BJP leader Nupur Sharma, where she commented something offending to the idealists of Muhammad. Later, the BJP stated that the party has a vast respect for the other religions of the country and also defames any insult to a religious person. The BJP suspended their speaker, Nupur Sharma, and also banished Naveen Kumar Jindal for supporting her statement.
Mamta Banarjee strongly accused Nupur Sharma by saying that her best place is Tihar Jail. She added that earlier, Nupur Sharma made a false statement where she stated that Bengal girls were being assaulted in Basirhat. On the basis of her statement, an inquiry was issued, which later proved the incidents were from Bangladesh.
