An unfortunate incident unraveled in Candolim, North Goa when a 39-year old woman, Suchana Seth was found travelling with her 4-year old son’s body. The accused has been identified as a startup’s CEO of Mindful AI Lab.
She belongs to Bengaluru. According to police reports, the accused woman has been arrested by the Karnataka Police and was charged with the murder of her son.
The employees of the hotel she was staying at, Sol Banyan Grande were suspicious of her actions as she did not leave the hotel with her son, instead she was seen carrying a huge bag. This raised several questions and led the hotel staff to file a complaint with the local Police.
Suchana Seth tried to fool the police and make them believe her lies but her story did not add up. Calangute Police Officer told Hindustan Times that “She initially told the police she had left her son with a relative in South Goa, but the story didn’t check out.
We called the cab driver and asked him to report to the nearest police station. She was nabbed with the help of Karnataka Police in Chitradurga district while on the way to Bengaluru,”.
The hotel-staff informed the Police about blood stains they found on the hotel towels. This led to the Police investigation. On gaining contact with the alleged murderer, the Police asked Suchana Seth about her son’s whereabouts. She said that the boy was with her friend.
On being asked the address, she gave a fake address. The Police inspected the bag she was carrying after asking the Driver to head to the Police-Station. This is when the deceased body of the young-boy was found.
The post-mortem of the child’s body will be conducted in Chitradurga. Seth’s husband has been informed about the incident. According to reports, Suchana was a native of West Bengal. She was amidst an ongoing divorce with her husband, Venkat Raman.
What made this woman take her son’s life? Was it a fight with her husband? Did her son irritate her ? Was her son constantly reminding her of the man she was divorcing? Was the child complaining about her behaviour towards him? Did the child miss his father?. The cause is still unknown.
It is sad to witness such brutal crimes. This case is shocking as one would not imagine a mother to kill her child. What must have gone through the child’s head when he was going through all of this?. The judicial system will surely be taking a strict action against such lunatic behaviour.
