A team of International researchers have performed research on how global warming affects human brain.
According to the report published in Nature climate change it was found that the changes in the environment influence the working of our brain and also the effect of climate change may impact the functioning of our brain in the upcoming future .
The research was done on a large scale, it was led by the University of Vienna. Geneva, New York, Chicago, Washington, Stanford, Exeter in the UK and Max Plank institute in Berlin have contributed to the research and also looked at how neuroscientists may understand the suffering and treat the problem.
Scientists have already known that change in environmental factors can vigorously change the development and plasticity of the brain since 1940’s. In the research it was found that this effect has also been seen in humans due to various reasons which included poor nutrition and more.
However, this research specially highlights the profound impact on the human brain due to change in environmental conditions.
The Lead author Dr Kimberly C. Doell, of the University of Vienna said that the greatest threat of our time is that environmental factors may change the workings of our brain.
Furthermore the authors are now willing to call for research to know how extreme weather events impact the human brain. Scientists have firm belief that such events may change brain structure, function, and overall health.
