Parameshwara, the Karnataka minister, revealed that both accused from Karnataka were previously linked to the Shivamogga blast.
Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara praised both the NIA and the Karnataka police for their efforts a day after the National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested the two accused who planted explosive devices that caused the blast in Rameshwaram Cafe. Parameshwara, the Karnataka minister, revealed that both accused from Karnataka were previously linked to the Shivamogga blast. Karnataka Home Minister Dr. G Parameshwara stated that the NIA arrested two accused in the Bengaluru café blast case. The NIA has done a wonderful job. The Karnataka police have done a wonderful job. Both of them hail from Karnataka. They studied together. He was initially told that they were from Thirthahalli, Shivamogga district.
He also added, They will find out whether they have any links with the other agencies. These two were supposed to have been involved in the earlier Shivamogga blast. They had escaped for almost 3–4 years. And now, after this incident, they are caught. NIA will investigate further. And then our police will also find out because they are originally from Karnataka. So let us wait and see what comes out of the investigation.
On March 1, a low-intensity explosion occurred at Bengaluru’s Rameshwaram Cafe, and on March 9, the cafe reopened, and after that, the customers were checked in with handheld detectors in terms of security. But on this Friday, the NIA arrested the accused who placed the explosion at the cafe, Adbul Matheen Taha, and the mastermind, Mussavir Hussain Shazeb, from their hideout in a guest house near Kolkata.
