Notwithstanding the Weaker global indications, the market started the session on an upward note and enlarging the gains as the day progressed further. The day came after two days of selling as ‘bull’ bounced back on January 4 with Nifty & Sensex touching new heights.
Currently,Nifty is up by 141.25 points or 0.66 percent at Rs. 21,658.60 & inching closer to Rs. 21,700 before finishing near the day’s high & Sensex is up by 490.97 points or 0.69 percent at Rs. 71,847.57.
Toppers & Losers of the day aside Bull…..
Bajaj Finance, NTPC, ONGC, Tata Consumer and IndusInd Bank are among the top gainers on the Nifty, while losers included BPCL, LTI Mindtree, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, HCL Technologies and Hero MotoCorp.
On the sectoral front, the Realty index was up 6.6 percent, the power index was up 2 percent, while bank, capital goods, healthcare and oil & gas index were up 0.5-1 percent.
BSE Midcap and smallcap indices were up 1 percent each and touched fresh record highs.
A prolonged escalation was seen in Godrej Properties, DLF and Vodafone Idea, while a short build-up was seen in PVR INOX, Apollo Tyres and Navin Fluorine International.
In individual stocks, a drastic spike in share price of more than 5% was seen in DLF, Oberoi Realty and Godrej Properties.More than 450 stocks tapped into their 52-week high on the BSE Today, including Bombay Burmah, Brigade Enterprises, Century Tectiles, DCM Shriram, DLF, Electrosteel Castings, Godrej Properties, Himadri Speciality Chemical, Kolte-Patil, Macrotech Developers, Max Healthcare, MTNL, Prestige Estate, Puravankara, Reliance Power, Sobha and Torrent Power.
