Meanwhile, ED and IT have conducted raids in four states on Thursday. After the arrest of Sanjay Singh’s ,the Income Tax and ED carried out extensive raids across four states. Rathin Ghosh, a minister in the West Bengal government, had his home raided by the ED in relation to the municipality recruitment scam. Thus, IT raided the DMK MP’s Chennai home. In addition, raids have been carried out at the homes of the Chairman of DCC Bank in Shivamogga, Karnataka, and the BRS MLA in Telangana.

Opposition leaders call every action of the investigating agencies politically motivated. They claim that the attempt to scare may be in the name of investigation, but they will not be scared. According to the report of Aaj Tak .But the question is that ,why does Ed remember the investigation even just before the elections.??ED Raids Jumped 27 times During 2014-2022 Compared to 2014-19Telangana.. ED has conducted extensive raids in the last three months. During this period, ED has seized more than Rs 100 crore. Where does all this money go, is the question.
Whose property is the money that is seized?
Acc. to the report of ‘Novbharat times’ The court makes the ultimate determination about the rightful owner of the property. In other words, the government owns the property if the court grants a seizure order. The property is returned to the owner if the ED is unable to substantiate the accusations made against the defendant. According to this report, it seems that the government is going to use this money in the 2024 elections.
For this reason, opposition leaders’ properties are seized under the pretense of being corrupt. All India Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra raised the question of misuse of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) by the Narendra Modi government during zero hour on December 13, 2022.
She unambiguously said, “There is an atmosphere of terror with the sword of the Enforcement Directorate hanging over businessmen and high net worth individuals. The ruling party buys lawmakers for hundreds of crores and yet members of the Opposition represent 95% of lawmakers under investigation by the ED. She quoted government figures to stress that the ED has conducted 5,422 investigations under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) in the last 17 years, with only 23 convictions, a “pathetic” 0.5%. She further revealed that since 2011, the ED has launched 1,600 investigations and 1,800 raids, but convicted only 10 people.
There is truth in what Moitra said. since the Narendra Modi administration took office, the ED has investigated 121 political figures, of whom 115 (95%) were members of the opposition. These included 24 members of the Congress, 19 members of the Trinamool Congress, 11 members of the Nationalist Congress Party, 8 members of the Shiv Sena, and so forth.
According to Mallikarjun Kharge, PM Modi sends the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Income Tax Department, and CBI to target the opposition before going on the campaign trail. Calling ED, I-T department and CBI as the “jawans” of the Modi government, Kharge said that the prime minister is afraid because of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) defeat in Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh and therefore the agencies are trying to scare the Congress. Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Raghav Chadha also claimed that federal investigative agencies are being used by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to target opposition leaders.“The top leaders of the parties involved in the INDIA alliance are on the BJP’s target list.
The BJP aims to win the Lok Sabha elections by sending the top leaders of opposition parties to jail. BJP’s controlled agencies are conspiring to arrest Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal to weaken the AAP so that they can win all seven seats in Delhi. If the top leaders or their close associates are arrested, their parties will weaken, making them unfit for elections, and the BJP can emerge victorious,” Chadha alleged. The Aam Aadmi Party on Thursday alleged there was a ‘political conspiracy’ behind the Enforcement Directorate’s summons to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind kejriwal.
There is also concern that AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal may be taken into custody; today, however, he made a statement in which he threatened to be jailed by the government. He has said that if he goes to jail then he decided to the government will run in jail. By doing this the government is not only losing the trust of the public but is also misleading the court.
