The drug was discovered when on-duty assistant police inspector Narayan Patil of Sangvi police station noticed a man with suspicious movements in the local area during night patrols.
The incident took place in Pimpri Chinchwad, Maharashtra’s Pune district. Pune Police arrested a 32-year-old man who was carrying 2.38 kg of drugs worth Rs 2 crore. The accused was identified as Namami Shankar Zha, who is a resident of Bihar.
According to the official report, the city police, aka Pimpri-Chinchwad police, started agitating and devoured 2.38 kg of MD drugs worth ₹ 2,02,00,000. On Friday, the accused was arrested in the Pimple Nilakh area of Pimpri Chinchwad in Pune district.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Shivaji Pawar, stated that they arrested the accused after his action, who was carrying a white carry bag, which was noticed by on-duty assistant police inspector Narayan Patil of Sangvi police station in the local area during night patrolling. He also added that the police found 2.38 kg of MD drugs with a market price of over 2.20 crore and a mobile phone in his Keepings during the search of the suspect.
Afterwards, the police produced the accused to the court, and the Pune court ordered to keep him in police custody for 7 days. Before that, the case was registered under sections 8 (c), 21 (c), and 22 (c) of the NDPS Act at Sangvi police station.
