The Indian archer and former World No. 1, Deepika Kumari, who missed the whole season last year after embracing motherhood in December 2022, toppled the selection trials for the upcoming Archery World Cup and Paris Olympics 2024 on Sunday. Though India is yet to secure a quota in the women’s section for the Paris Olympics. She made it to the four members squad along with Bhajan Kaur, Ankita Bhakat and Komalika Bari.
Deepika also topped the first selection trials in Kolkata back in January which helped her reach in the squad for Asia Cup Baghdad stage one.
Playing in her first international event since embracing motherhood back in 2022, she bagged gold medals in individual and team in Baghdad. In an international event in 2022, Deepika returned with gold medals in the individual as well as team events.
The Archery World Cup’s first stage will be held from April 23 to April 28 in Shanghai while South Korea will be hosting the second stage from May 21 to May 26.
