Police on Friday arrested “a local BJP leader along with 10 others on a charge of running a sex racket in district Howrah of West Bengal.
The local BJP leader has been identified as Sabyasachi Ghosh.
During a police raid, two minor girls and four women were rescued from the hotel on Thursday evening. The four women were taken to Liluha’s home and the two girls were taken to the child welfare committee.
The incident triggered a political raw as the Trinamool Congress accused the BJP leader for involving in a sex racket, while the BJP claimed that the ruling party was trying to deflect attention from the incident of Sandeshkhali where women alleged sexual abuse by the TMC leader.
Senior BJP leader Rahul Sinha claimed that the TMC is trying to show the BJP in a poor light.
