Speaking at a sizable public gathering of “Prajabheri” on Tuesday in Kollapur, Telangana, Rahul Gandhi promised his party would realize the goals that led to Telangana’s formation. Rahul launched a vicious attack on the ruling party, claiming that although KCR supports his family, the Congress party supports the state’s citizens, including women and young people without jobs.
He said that Sonia Gandhi, the then-chair of the UPA, had realized Telangana’s dream while fully aware of the political ramifications because she wished realize the state’s citizens’ ambitions. However, he continued, “the dreams and aspirations of only one family have been fulfilled under the current regime.”
Following Rahul Gandhi’s assertion that the election is between the “doralu” (feudal landlords) and the “prajalu” (common people), the BJP and the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) have responded sharply.
Gandhi claimed that the BRS is a family party and that it has joined forces with the BJP to defeat the Congress while making several appearances at Jagtial and Armoor Assembly constituencies on Friday. He continued by saying that both parties have oppressed people and represent landlords.
On Saturday, BRS MLC K Kavitha and BJP chief spokesperson K Krishna Sagar Rao responded to his remarks. Rahul is not in the present or the future; he is stuck in the past. The BJP is the only party that can provide Telangana’s people with good governance that is free from corruption, dynastic rule, and is based on democracy, according to Rao.
In a statement, Rao added, “Rahul’s intellectual bankruptcy is evident through his twisted and manipulated rants about how his mother has made Telangana a separate state. It’s shameful that Rahul has zero knowledge that Telangana was forcefully merged with Andhra Pradesh in 1956 by his grandfather and former prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru, which led to subsequent struggles of Telangana for self governance all the way from 1960.”
In addition, the statement said that Rahul needed to be educated about modern politics. On December 9, 2009, the Congress government at the center declared Telangana to be a state in principle. On December 25, it shamefully broke its promise, which caused hundreds of young people to end their lives in distress. Rahul needs to be aware that when his mother Sonia Gandhi and her government introduced the Telangana Bill in Parliament, they were playing a low-level political game because they didn’t have enough support in either house.
Rahul Gandhi claimed that the Kaleshwaram project was “Dorala Sarkar’s” greatest lie. Together, the BJP and BRS have embezzled one lakh crore from the Kaleshwaram project. More than one lakh crore rupees that belonged to laborers and farmers have been pilfered by the BRS. He declared, “The barrage bridge’s pillars are sinking.”
Telangana families will have to pay back the debt associated with this project by making annual contributions of about Rs 31,500 until 2040. Unlike KCR’s Kaleshwaram, the previous Congress administration developed a number of long-lasting infrastructure projects. He claimed that Prajala Sarkar’s successful projects, such as Sriram Sagar, Singur, Nagarjuna Sagar, and other dams, are meeting the needs of the populace.
Rahul went on to say that in the name of technological advancement and the Dharani portal, the BRS government had taken away the lands granted to Dalits, Tribals, and Backward classes by the previous Congress government. He said that about 20 lakh farmers are benefiting from Dharani. Rahul stated that the state’s circumstances were not as favorable as the BRS was claiming. Public sector organizations were closing, and employees were not receiving their salaries on time. He declared, “KCR’s family controls key portfolios like land revenue, sand, and liquor to exploit Telangana.”
There was only one election contest in Telangana, involving the Congress and BRS. “BRS fully supports the BJP in Parliament on bills like the GST and the Farmers’ Bills. Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi vadra the congress has a vision and roadmap for Telangana, The Congress government was established as the people’s government with the goal of bolstering your vision for Telangana. We have begun working on the guarantees we made to other congress states.
If elected to power, she further pledged to give 12% of Telangana’s reservation to scheduled tribes and 18% to scheduled castes. On November 30, there will be assembly elections for the 119-member Telangana assembly. Together with Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and Mizoram, votes will be counted on December 3. In Telangana, the BRS, Congress, and Bhartiya Janta Party will compete in a triangular contest.
