Tokyo, Japan: The Creator of hugely famous “Dragon Ball” Manga and Anime series, Akira Toriyama has died at the age of 68 his team declared on Friday.
“We deeply saddened to disclose that the Manga Creator Akita Toriyama passed away on 1st March due to acute subdural hematoma ” said a statement posted on the official X account of” Dragon Ball ” franchise.
” He would have many more things to achieve, however he has left many Manga titles and works of art to this world ” it’s added.
” We hope that Akira Toriyama’s every unique creations will continue to be loved by everyone for a long time to come ”
“Dragon Ball” is one of the best selling and most beloved Manga titles of all time.Its was first serialised in 1984 and has spawned countless Anime series , films and video games.”Dragon Ball ” revolves around the lead charector “Son Goku “, a young boy who gets power by collecting magical balls that contains dragons. Together with his allies Goku fights to protect the earth from evil intruders. Akira stopped his “Dragon Ball” Manga in 1995 giving it an open ending.

Echiiro Oda the creator of another famous Manga series “One Piece” said in a statement that Toriyama’s death was “too soon”, and left “too big shoes to fill”. ” To think I will never see him again….. I am overwhelmed by sadness ” Oda said.
Publishing house Shueisha said in a statement that it was”greatly by the sudden news of his death”.
Dragon Ball official page posted ” We inform you of this sad news with gratefulness of your kindness during his lifetime. Funeral service was held with his family and very few relatives. Following his wishes for tranquility , we respectfully inform you that we will not accept flowers , condolence gifts, visiting, offerings and others. So we ask you to refrain from conduction interviews with his family. They added ” future plans of commemorative gatherings is not yet decided , we will let you know when it’s confirmed. We deeply thank you for your understanding and support as always ” the letter concluded.
