According to the investigation, last week over 100 schools in Delhi-NCR received bomb threat emails from the Russian domain’mail.ru’, which was also the source of the threat emails sent to the Ahmedabad schools.
All 130 of Delhi’s 130 schools received bomb threats via email, and they also instigated institution officials to quickly evacuate the students from school premises on Wednesday morning. According to police officers, the threatening emails that were sent to the schools in Delhi-NCR came from a server in Russia. With the help of Delhi Police’s anti-terror unit special cell, the emails were traced back to Russia, and it is also suspected that they were created using the dark web. The dark web is encrypted internet material that allows users to hide their identity and whereabouts from others. As per the statement of a police officer, the threat was sent from the email address named’sawariim@mail.ru’. According to the official report, the terror group Islamic State (IS) has regularly used the Arabic word “sawarim” in their propaganda movies over the last several years.
Thousands of kids are affecting their mental health through this threat in all four cities: 242 were in Delhi, four in Noida, two in Ghaziabad, and six in Gurugram, for a total of 254 schools. Delhi Public Schools, Sankskriti School, Amity International, Bal Bharati Public Schools, GD Goenka, and DAV Public Schools were among the major affected institutions in the city. A Delhi Police spokesperson talked about this matter: Some schools in Delhi received bomb threats through email. Responding to the situation, Delhi Police conducted thorough checks of all such schools as per protocol. However, nothing objectionable has been found so far. It appears that these calls seem to be hoaxes.
