To surrender the pirates who hijacked FV Al-Kambar, the Indian Navy used INS Sumedha and the missile frigate Trishul, which oppressed and rescued 23 Pakistani fishermen.
During a 12-hour-long operation in the Arabian Sea, the Indian Navy rescued at least 23 Pakistani fishermen from Somali pirates. The Indian Navy stated that, after more than 12 hours of intense coercive tactical measures as per the SOPs, the pirates on board the hijacked FV were forced to surrender. The crew, comprising 23 Pakistani nationals, has been safely rescued. The incident took place in the early hours of March 29th. INS Sumedha choked the hijacked FV Al-Kambar, but INS Trishul soon joined the operation.
This is the second operation in which the Indian Navy oppressed pirates without any violence. The Indian Navy made Somali pirates surrender without any bloodshed. The Indian Navy coerced more than 30 Somali pirates to surrender and rescued the crew without any gunshots. Kolkata INS arrested 35 pirates and saved 17 crew members safely. On Friday, the Indian Navy responded to the attack on an Iranian fishing vessel in the Arabian Sea. According to a report, they learned about the piracy incident from the boat of Iranian fishermen.
The Iranian fisherman ship was 90 nautical miles southwest of Socotra when the incident took place, where nine armed pirates boarded, but the hijacked board was choked on March 29. They also stated that the Indian Navy is committed to maintaining maritime security and ensuring the safety of seafarers navigating through these perilous waters.
