After changing their names, the accused were seen on camera at a Kolkata hotel. Reportedly, Tahaa had used some fake names, such as Vignesha BD and Anmol Kulkarni.
As per the investigation, it’s been 42 days since the Rameshwaram Cafe blast case. On Friday, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested the two culprits—MMussavir Hussain Shazib and Abdul Matheen Taaha—ffrom West Bengal. According to the sources, it is a crucial development for intelligence agencies and the NIA. They followed a pattern for 42 days, which the agencies were tracking. The sources also added that both of them only stayed in guesthouses and private lodges where identity verification is not forced.
Later the court gave three-day transit remand of the two men to the central agency. The sinners are locals of Thirthahalli in Karnataka’s Shivamogga district. According to the official report, Tahaa was the main mastermind behind the plan for the blast, and Shazib placed the explosive device at the cafe. A new CCTV footage has been discovered, showing that the accused are staying at a guest house in Kolkata. The new CCTV footage of the two culprits was discovered the day after the arrest of Shazib and Tahaa. They were seen checking into a guest house, which is situated in Kolkata’s Ekbalpur.
On March 25, they checked in and stayed there for three days. They identified themselves as tourists from Karnataka and Maharashtra. Ashraf Ali, the receptionist of the hotel, stated in a media report that they came on March 25 and showed their identity cards, and we provided them with a room. They checked out from the hotel on March 28th. When the officials from the NIA arrived, they went through the entry register and started an investigation.
