In Jharkhand’s Ramgarh District, a couple have been arrested for killing their daughter after she refused to give them money. Allegedly, the girl’s father and stepmother asked her to break her fixed deposit. She said that she would not do so. On January 13 the 17 Year-Old girl was found hanging in her room. Her brother has accused their father and stepmother of killing her. A FIR has been registered at Bhadaninagar Police Station. This has been filed on the basis of the statement made by the young-boy. The complainant has accused his father and stepmother of killing the young-girl and then hanging her from the ceiling to portray it as a suicide.
The victim has been identified as Khushi Kumari. She had 6-Lakh Rupees in Fixed Deposit. The Deposit was about to mature soon. The alleged offenders have been identified as Sunil Mahto (Father) and his wife Punam Devi (Step-Mother). The couple have been arrested since the FIR has been lodged. Several people of the locality gathered around the Police Station to protest against the ill-doing of the couple. The villagers wanted immediate justice for the dead-girl.
Greed makes people perform acts of violence that they would never imagine themselves to do. Killing your own child for money is an especially extreme act. A parent nurtures and cultivates their child. Seeing the person one give’s birth to themselves die is painful but killing the person one give’s birth to themselves is psychotic. Why were they in such dire need of her savings that they ended up killing her? Her brother will always feel a hollow space and experience a series of emotions including hatred against his father and stepmother. Police investigation is ongoing.
