On Wednesday in Mayur Vihar Market, a major car accident was caught on camera where a drunk driver banged a car into a stall. Apparently, one person died and six people were injured in this accident
The accident happened on Wednesday around 9 p.m. at Mayur Vihar Market, located in east Delhi’s Ghazipur area. According to the officials, after the incident, the locals wrecked the car and smashed the car driver. A clear video of the incident was caught on CC TV, clearly showing that the car was ramming into the fruit and vegetable stall. After the following incident, the locals started to break the windows to get the driver out.
According to the police, a 22-year-old woman died due to this accident in east Delhi’s Ghazipur area on Wednesday, and six other injured were sent to the hospital for treatment. The locals claim that before they can catch the driver, he speeds up the car, and the driver recognises this as an unstable situation as he might be drunk. But the police stated that they would go through a medical examination to check whether he was drunk or not.
The woman who died in the car accident was identified as Sita Devi, who was a resident of Ghaziabad. Deputy Commissioner of Police (east) Apoorva Gupta stated that a total of seven people with injuries were admitted to the Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital. Five of them were women, and two were men. The police also stated that the accused is in police custody and legal action is being taken.
Aam Aadmi Party MLA Kuldeep Kumar talked about this accident and stated in a press conference that an accident occurred near Mayur Vihar’s Ryan school. The driver was inebriated and ran over several people, killing one. This is a tragic incident.
